Bio
Born in the heart of Nashville Tennessee, Mari Cornell grew up in churches, blues bars, and honky tonks. At an early age, she had the privilege of being exposed to exceptional talent such as Chris Stapleton, Michael McDonald and the Wooten Brothers. Third and Lindsley being akin to her backyard, she established a keen ear for her style at a very young age. When she was eight years old her mother moved back home to rural Pennsylvania where Mari learned the value of friends and a good name. She spent her weekdays in school, and her weekends traveling and singing in ministry with her family.
At eleven years old, Mari's grandparents gifted her her first guitar. From that moment on, Mari knew exactly how she wanted to spend the rest of her life. When she was twelve years old, she moved to a farming town in southern Georgia. Playing clarinet in her school's traveling marching band, she developed her ear further still, as she never learned how to read music. When she was seventeen, she moved to Virginia Beach with her mother. She began working as an Attractions Attendant at an arcade in Town Center. A quest purchasing a game card told her about "Live! On Atlantic. She signed up, auditioned, and inadvertently became a part of something much bigger than herself.
